We’ve been fortunate to have healthy horse kids (we offer them good, consistent care). But Saturday’s arson fires were a bit too close for comforts. Boom boom the Lipizzan went off her feed and kept looking at her flank. The signs for colic! We stayed up with her the whole night. There wasn’t an equine vet making emergency calls in our part of Alabama or Mississippi or west Florida, so I gave her a 1,000 lb dose of old banamine, and after an hour she was back to eating hay!
